I have had nothing but problems with the new Yahoo Mail. I have 5 email accounts with them (don't ask, long story!) - they all got switched to the "new" mail.

I complained on one of them about the Delete button sometimes not working, and my messages not appearing, or disappearing when I am trying to read them.
here is what they told me to do, no kidding.

1. Disable any Internet browser's addons or plugins.

2. Temporarily disable any security software.

3. Delete your Internet browser's cookies and cache.

4. Update Flash Player.

5. Ensure that JavaScript is updated and enabled in your Internet
browser.

6. Restart your Internet browser.

7. Restart your computer.

8. Temporarily switch to a different supported Internet browser.

9. Restart your Internet browser.

10. Restart your computer.

11. Test from another computer; please include the results of this test
with any response to this email.

12. Test from another location; please include the results of this test
with any response to this email.

And I'm supposed to do all that just to read my email!! I don't think so.

Anyway, the good news is, one of my accounts somehow got switched back to the old Yahoo Mail. and I complained enough on another one, on Live Chat, and they switched me back!!

I'm impressed that you were able to find a place to complain. I have had Yahoo mail since 1998 and have resisted all changes from the Classic until now when there was basically no choice. I totally DETEST the new look and feel. It is slow, it is cumbersome, and the filters don't work half the time.

I set up two new filters yesterday and neither one is working. I have set up lots of filters in the past and I know how to do it. Question is, does Yahoo know how to do it?

Two of the missing features that drive me nuts are the ability to search a particular folder and the ability to display only "unread" email.

I am the "owner" of two Yahoo Groups set up under my user Id and I am fearful of what will happen if I drop the account. It is a premium account that I pay for and I don't think it is worth the money but I'm not sure what will happen if I try to drop the "pay" part and go back to the old way.

Can you tell you hit a hot button?

go to "Help" - click on Live Chat - tell them you want to switch back - anything they suggest, tell them you already tried it. I just switched another account back to Classic - 3 down, 2 to go!!

Thanks, I will. Maybe I can go back to "free", too, since most of what I'm paying for doesn't actually work.

Lucky you! I have Windows 98 with dial-up and the new browsers don't support it. with DH out of work and this economy it won't be any time soon that we get a new computer unless one of the kids (grown) decides to upgrade. I go to the library now. Not handy as I have an account for the historical society.....off my soap box.
