Yea...its raining here today!!

We are currently having on and off thunderstorms which I love and rain. I am SO glad. I know a lot of us need the rain. I hope it's coming your way if you need it!!:o

AFQSinc 08-10-2012 10:29 AM

Yes, we need the rain. However, we do not need the tornado warning that just ended. I hope everyone stays safe and dry. I cancelled my kidlet's swim lesson. We're staying in and I"m going to work on burying threads on DH's birthday quilt.

I know what you mean. We had one cool day last week and I was able to open up the doors and windows and it was SO nice getting fresh air in the house. I am ready for Fall!!!

It is so nice to have humidity a person can live with! Throw open those windows!!

So glad to hear you got some rain. It is just so sad that there is drought conditions in so many states. Where I live it isn't that bad but southern WI lost all their crops.

We got about 6" total this week in parts of central New York State. The grass actually has come back some. Everything smells so good - fresh and clean, not hot and dusty. Our lawn is full of very happy robins!

Yet I just read that in the "glorious weather" area of southern California, the temps have been well over 100 degrees! 116 in San Diego today! WTHey??? Those poor guys (mu DD and DGS included). :(

I got stuck driving in it.. Did not enjoy myself. Got out of the car, and had no way to get into the office without stepping into rushing water.. I took the plunge, as I knew the rain wasn't stopping anytime soon, and I was only going to be in the office for 1/2 hour.. At least I had an umbrella for the upper body.

AuntieD 08-10-2012 05:26 PM

We got some rain today and tonight it was cool enough to sit out on the back deck.

Luckily I live a bit south of City of San Diego and our high was 89 degrees.

Ditto! It's been cool hear the past couple of days (no rain but at least the blast furnace has been shut off... LOL!) & it just makes me long for the snap of cool days! It feels so good to have cool, fresh air blowing on me instead of the AC!

My DD lives in San Diego, too, & she's amazed that summers are cooler there than back home here in WI!

I just saw on the news that you guys are having fires out there in SoCal. Are they bad? Isn't it kind of early for that?

It rained here for the last two days. It was a well needed rain. Today as of right now it's sunny and 72.

We've been lucky this yr. Even though we've had more than normal high temps and for a longer period than normal, we've had plenty of rain. I got up at 630 Thur morning to cut grass because it was supposed to be 90 and then that afternoon it started to rain. When my grandson said he didn't like the rain I told him how could the grass grow without the rain. He looked at me funny and said, you really want the grass to grow GiGi. I told him green grass is always a lot prettier than brown grass even if I do have to cut it with my old rotary mower.

Sure hope some of it come to Texas. We are hot and dry.

It's raining here right now... a nice, slow, soaking rain at that. It sounds so nice outside my window. And it's cool, too! Could fall be right around the corner?
