Today I picked up my new treadle and was looking though all the drawers when I found it has 2 secret drawers!! I opened the first one and didn't see anything then I opened the second one and Oh my goodness!! It had 6 negatives from 1900's and an old Social security card from a gentleman and from the same man his withdrawl card from 1918 from an electrical union!! The photos are from a logging camp one of them shows 3 men with the very long saws and a downed tree the others are from the camp itself!!! I am so excited to see these there were also 2 obituarys from what we think were friends of the owners one lady was married in 1884 and moved to Tacoma Wa this machine was definatly from my state what an amazing story to tell. I also found 4 old needles not used for my machine!!!! I will send pictures once we get the negatives developed!

Oh my gosh! I always wonder what my antiques would tell me if they could talk. It sounds like yours is telling you a story. I'll have to check my treadle for secret drawers. What a treasure.

That is so cool. Thanks for sharing the story. Can't wait for the pix.

In university, I bought a desk from an engineer's estate. It was full of clippings and documents from his career and a 1960's letter from his mother telling him to give up being a musician. lol

Some of his ancestors would probably like to have the papers and such.
