If I remember right, she had no idea how to thread the machine when she sat down to use it. I have no doubt she knew how to design and construct but it could have been by hand.......a lot of those remote places are fiercly proud of their handwork.

I wondered about this one too, she really doesnt design like most of the "schooled" people. I liked the quirky girl they just dumped. Too bad.

I think she's not truthful...I also think that last week she should have been busted for getting help. I'm sure that if her look had won somebody would have cried foul.

It isn't against the rules, and it isn't the first time one contestant has pitched in to help another. If she were busted you'd have to bust anyone who ever got a second opinion from another contestant, or got help dying fabric or threading a serger, or got someone's extra velcro or something. There are a lot of challenges where the models help with the last-minute details, too.

I believe her. I met a man once that broke his leg and lived in an upstairs apartment. He bought a sewing machine and taught himself to sew and made really incredible things. The leg healed and he quit sewing! When I was 11 I had only been sewing a little while and was sewing professionally for customers so it is possible to learn quickly. I think some people just have a knack for it.

I think that she is playing everyone. . . She doesn't know what to do but is able to sew so perfectly. I just don't buy it! I think she is looking for glory . . . She is not one of my faves.

I think she's a "ringer". Also, I would think that the judges take a constestant's ability to run a business into their final end-of-season decisions.

She got more help than just helping with opinions or sewing finishing touches... I think the other person who got help I forget who that was should also have gotten in trouble. It may not be the letter of the "law" but I think it's the spirit that if someone is getting that much help at this stage someone else is being sent home that may have had more potential (not this week because Julie's - was that her name?- clothes were just awful every time) At this stage it's supposed to weed out. If someone hadn't helped her (and the other person) her look wouldn't have been finished. Time will tell with her. I guess my problem with her is I don't think she is being truthful about the amount of skills she had prior to entering the show. And i dont think her story is straight. In the first episode she claims that just learned how to sew then in another part she stated that she had lots of people creating patterns and sewing from her designs. It's one thing to learn how to sew but it's a totally different skill to design.
