they say fast to boiling or boilfast on them, what the heck does that mean?

It means that they are coulourfast even if you boil them. HTH

Boiled any clothes lately?HeHe Guess they did in the old days. If the thread was already colored then they weren't dying the fabrics so why did they need to boil the clothes?

Back in your great grandparents day, they boiled clothes to get them clean. Laundry was done outside with heavy metal tubs over an open fire.

When I was a kid my mother boiled clothes in a large iron boiling kettle like a pot. She put in homemade lye soad and stirred them with a stick.
