I have been wide open for a couple weeks now. Haven't done any sewing though because I've been so busy. Today I'm supposed to make cookies with the kids. I really don't want to. Dh is out of town but is coming in tonight. We have to go finish shopping tomorrow. He's going to be off 11 days and has them planned out with things we will do. We have to work together to get more accomplished he says.......which means that basically I keep him company even if there's nothing I can do. The housework will be done at night after he goes to bed to watch tv.....I think I just need a day to clean my sewing area and sew before all this happens! And to top it all off my laptop is dieing.....

Hang in there. My life goes not as planned daily. There have been changes in my next week. This morning my plan is to hang on for the ride and fit in some quiet time in my room with my toys each day. A little is better than none. Enjoy your holidays no matter what they bring. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Yep, take time for you. My DH still works and I try and do everything I can so when he comes home, he can relax. We had our annual Open House celebration on the 11th. I did EVERYTHING for that party. Even cleaned up by myself. We are traveling to my DH's son's for Christmas. I picked all the presents, wrapped them and have them in large trash bags ready to load tomorrow. I have made a few appetizers and side dishes that we are taking with us. I am going to cleanup the house (you know, that general cleaning before you go away). Then this afternoon I am going to sit and work on a 3rd quilt for Christmas. Won't be seeing that GC until New Years.

All that being said. I had the opportunity to stay at home 3 years ago and I am finally adjusted and very thankful I can be at home "playing all day". So if I have a little extra to do and DH can't see that I need some help (I will never, of course, ask for it) that is ok with me. On the cold snowy mornings, I still get up at 5 a.m. but I no longer have to travel great distances in it.

Sounds like you definitely need a good sewing day and some ME time. Learn to take that time. You deserve it!

Merry Christmas

I think u need a " Man " break. I love my DH dearly, but there r times I just need some " Me " time. I count the days when he goes on hunting trips or to see his folks. Yes, I miss him, but its a good miss. Sounds like ur worn out and tired. Please just take a big breath and let some of ur "to do" things go. I know u want everything perfect for Christmas but take time to be gentle with urself. And u may have to tell him that u can't help, that u r to busy.

Try to enjoy the day making cookies with the kids, the day will come they will not want to do this and it will be missed. If on the days you can't help your husband tell him you have things you can be doing.
I love my husband being home for a little while but he understands when I have to have some me time. Like you I have to do all the shopping for my family and his with all the wrapping but don't complain because I'm disabled and can't work outside the home, so he brings the pay home.
I pray you get to feeling better and God give you the strength to make it through the next few weeks.
Hang in there.
God Bless
