Quilt mending
My 85 year old mother gave me her lap quilt to mend yesterday. It was a quillow I made more than 20 years ago. It has a polyester batt and it was birthed. The edge will need a binding and I am thinking the pillow part will need to be sewn right through to the front by machine. It isn't going to be a pretty mend. I think it is time to make her a new quillow but I will fix this one this week and quickly get it back to her. It is her favourite because she says," it is just the right size for my lap and it is light so I can move it easily" . Gets me choked up just typing this since she loves it so much.

Well I went through my stash looking for dusty rose fabric. About 20 years ago dusty rose, wedge wood blue and medium green were all the rage for quilting cotton. A found a piece of plaid that didn't look to bad. Cut my binding and machine sewed it to the back and then machine sewed the front. It is finished and doesn't look too bad.
