I belong to a group, not a guild, because they are not at good times.

The group, however, meets once a month-ish...that I can attend because of work.

So, I quilt alone. And I know I am not as productive when I am not taking everything along with me to another location and spending time with other quilters!

Most of the women, while nice, are not really 'friends'.... you know?

Do you mostly quilt by yourself? Or do you get together with other ladies?

I quilt by myself (other than kids and/or bf in the same room as me). I belonged to a church group that quilted together, and I have gone to one class (very much enjoyed). I have one friend that quilts, but doesnt currently quilt because of time constraints. I enjoy quilting alone, and my family and this board always are very helpful with giving opinions and helping with questions. I would like to go on a quilting retreat, but more for the uninterrupted time for quilting than the socializing. I love my quilting time, and dont mind to do it by myself. :)

I prefer to quilt with a friend. Although if I have a deadline for finishing a project I work like a hive of bees on it at all hours of the day or night!

I quilt alone except for when little man decides he wants to help or get in the way. My sewing area is behind the livingroom couch so I am never really alone. I don't belong to any groups or guilds. I figure they wouldn't like it if I brought a wanna be quilter who is 4. :-)

I belong to a guild. I also quilt with my DM and alone. Due to my schedule I don't get to quilt as much as I would like.

I, like you, quilt alone. My sister, however, is just the opposite. She needs and enjoys the closeness of the other quilters. I don't quilt to see how many things I can get done in six months to a year. I only pick the things I have in mind for one of my grandchildren and if I don't feel like quilting for a day or two I don't. If you get into a quilting group you have to gather everything up and transport it to class and back again. Maybe, could it be, that I'm lazy???

I am usually sewing alone on evenings or Saturdays. I work full time. Every other Tuesday nite I meet with a group of quilters, but we don't always sew. Sometimes we just do Show & Tell or just gab.

I do belong to the guild here, but we don't sew usually at the meetings. My BFF who taught me to quilt and I have schedules at opposition to each other, so we never can find the time to sew together. Which I just hate!!!

Sometimes my DH comes in and sews with me....but sometimes that is 1 too many people in the sewing rooom!! If you get my drift!!

Mostly alone. I've never taken my machine anywhere but I hope to sign up a for a class or two pretty soon. I've gone to the local senior center on quilting days but I can't think as well in a room full of people talking and such. I like to go see what they are up to and show them my projects but when I really want to get something done I'm better when nobody is around.

I quilt alone because its just me and DH at home now and he isn't realy into quilting. Don't get me wrong he enjoys my efforts and if I mention a quilting event he says when do you want to go. The closest Guild is 2 hrs away they meet once a month and I do attend, and donate to our causes, will be working on the Quilt show this fall. I have one close friend who Quilts but she lives 2 1/2 hrs away. I have attended classes but more to learn than to chat. have never been to a retreat maybe next year.I think I might enjoy working with a group but have always sewn alone except when teaching kids and grad kids and then I don't sew they do and I just watch.
