Recycling or Disposal of Worn Out Clothing

Is there any place that takes really worn out clothing, towels, etc?
I hate to just dump it in the trash, but I don't know what else to do with it.
This stuff is beyond being used for rags, but hasn't quite disintegrated completely yet.

If it is all cotton, it makes a great compost filler. Remove all buttons or metal, tear the cloth to strips and toss it in a compost or bury it in your flower beds.
