After i typed a question about making rugs from plastic bags. why did I not think of using a recycling site?

http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art35668.asp

It also shows how to make plastic totes from them (maybe for your crafting supplies), and how to even crochet sandals from them. I thought that some of you who like to reuse, reduce, and recycle would enjoy this too. Time to start saving the bags!!

I've also got instructions for recycling old VHS tapes and cassettes, if anyone would like them, PM me and I'll get them out to you.

A friend of mine made me a tote and a clutch using the plastice bags. It's a neat way to recycle.

Do you know if it is safe to heat up th eplastic due to fumes? I have a pet bird, and birds are really sensitve to teflon. I wonder if it is the same as plastic??

We recycle all we can. Our daughter makes tote bags from plastic bags and colorful plastic party tablecloths.
Sometimes she crochets leftover yarn with the plastic, adds a little color. Ruth

Who remembers making those interlocked chains from gum wrappers?
My colleague has a purse made from plastic interlocked like that.
We tried to figure out how it was actually made, but couldn't.
