Default Rings

My husband wants to buy me a new w.ring set for Christmas. But my knuckle is big from arthritis. As it is I have to have my ring I have to cut my
ring off. When sizing won't the ring be
to big if I size the knuckle? I also have the same problem with my mothers ring on my right hand. I can't take either of them off even with soap or lotion.

I think I would get the ring sized for the knuckle and get one of the ring things that they put on the back, for a ring that is too big. I have to leave my rings off at night as my fingers tend to swell now.

Ask the jeweler what to do regarding sizing. They encounter this problem every day.

problem solved. have shots put in. they size the ring to size, in my case 10 for the knuckle, put little gold balls inside on the bottom, acts like a ring guard to get over the knuckle and keeps it in place. I also have them put in place on a top heavy ring. (I sold jewelry for over 25 yrs). it's not to costly, I don't know by you, they usuallyt put them in free for me, or $10. good luck and congrats.

they also have a more expensive option. at about halfway down the shank, they cut the ring, they can put a device in the ring, kinda on a hinge so it opens over the knuckle then close hinge. but i'd go for the shots. all my rings have shots in them

The hinge-type adjusters are the ones I'm most familiar with. Never heard of/seen the shot things. What a sweet DH you have.

I have a ring guard which my jeweler put on my ring because in the winter when it's cold, my ring is too big. I just squeeze it a bit closer to my finger and in the summer when it's hot I push it a bit away from my finger. If I didn't have it the ring would be twirling around my finger all the time.

My ring is too small now too and I just love my ring. I was thinking of getting a tatoo. That way I will never loose it and I don't have to worry about sizing. Haven't decided yet. I know it's gonna hurt.
