I have a pair that just built a nest in my spouting! I hope they decide to build some place else or their nest may get flooded.

Love the pics, and the descriptive words of how they sound. Can't even imagine hearing one......that would be cool to hear, but God has blessed me other ways instead of hearing............

We think of mourning doves as gentle, but I watched a pair of them bully a blue jay away from some bird seed on the ground once!! Don't mess with doves!!

Cute babies, aren't they? They look so soft and cuddly.

mourning doves may be from the south, but we have a good bunch of them on the south oregon coast... they will talk to you if you try.

Doves are really lazy creatures and usually don't make a nest of their own, they almost always take over a deserted/pre-used one, sometime they just lay their eggs on the ground. I grew up in the South in the country and we often found dove eggs under a stalk of cotton just laying on the ground...

Dove make the most beautiful sound. I love laying in bed in the mornings listening to them,

This is our first year to have doves at our house. I don't know how many or where their nest are.
