Yes, I saw a few robins today!

They were across the street so could not get a picture of them, but as soon as they reach my own yard I'll share.

Spring is on the way!!!

Here in TN.

LOL -- we're in a blizzard warning. My mom has been on the phone with her sisters in the Kingsport area. They are bragging about their 50 degree temperature while we set here in the ice storm. They love to tease her about weather.

You sound like me! For years I have had my own tradition of anxiously waiting to see my first robin of the year - and when I do I declare that Spring has arrived. Heck with the groundhog - robins rule!

A few robins stay in Ohio all year round. Sorry to burst your spring bubble.

They stay here all winter too, but for some reason we never see them until sometime in Feb. And this year is a bit earlier than normal!
So my spring bubble isn't busted. ;)

We have a family tradition that whoever sees the first robin in spring gets a pie. It's a contested prize every year, even though our kids are grown. Here in central Illinois early March is generally the earliest they show up. However, this year we had one on my rose trellis on Christmas Day. And this week DS called home to say he saw 3 robins...did he get 3 pies? We are disagreeing on whether the silly things ever left or if they are truly spring robins. He wants that pie! I don't know if they'll survive the blizzard outside today!

The first robins and the first crocus...I yearn for them every year. I really dislike winter.
