Default Granddaughter knits!

She decided that she wanted to learn to knit a scarf or two for her mother for Christmas. So, I taught her and she caught on real quick. She went home with my needles and yarn that she bought and started the scarf (s). Since she was apparently moving right along I texted her and said "when you get near the end-stop knitting when you get about 10 inches from the end of the yarn and I'll show you how to bind off". She said OK. Today I asked her how it was going and she said I'm done! I asked her if she googled how to bind off. Nope. What I should have said was "Stop knitting and leave the yarn on the needles". She just took the yarn off the needles! Don't know if I can save the scarves she made or not.

Things that make you shake your head-this would be one of those.

These things happen. Hopefully you can "catch" the stitches for her and save all her hard work.

As long as someone doesn't pull the end thread you should be fine. You may need to take it back a row or two to bind off but with a scarf it shouldn't matter.
