What kind of sewing machine do you have? Do you have a nickname for the machine? I have a Husquvarna Designer SE, I call her Betsie. Right now, Betsie is sick and in for repairs.

Mine's called "Awww Baby" cuz after I've not been in there sewing for awhile I walk in & say "Awwww Baby have you missed me?" And she tells me she does miss me! LOL

My Elna never had a name, but now that she is vintage, she needs one. My 1952 Singer 128 is Mamie after my grandmother, the family quilter, though the real Mamie only quilted by hand. My 1956 Singer 301 A is AnnieRose. I have no reason why - it's one of those I know, but I don't things. Mamie's little sister was Annie so maybe it's from my past.

So currently only two machines have names. Mamie and AnnieRose.

My 1949 Singer 201 is named Jeanie, after my Mom because she was always an inspiration to me. And when I sew, I need all the inspriation I can get!

I loved Lucille Ball. I have a Janome Horizon 7700 called Lucy. My Pfaff Creative 2.0 is Ethyl. My Baby Lock serger is Fred. My daughter named her Janome 2010 Ivy because it is green.

I also have a Husqvarna Viking. Mine is a Sapphire 870 Quilt. I named her Freya. When asked why, I say because she's a Viking. :)

My Babylock Ellisimo is nicknamed Dream Weaver and I call her DW for short. I also tell her how much I love her every time I sew! My friends think I am nuts but I never dreamed I would have the chance to own a machine like this.

I named my new Janome, McGhie, which is the last name of the woman who was my quilting mentor and first got me involved in this.
