I have made many PJ bottoms for my kids and also grandkids and your way is the easiest. That is the way I always do it.

I have some fabric that was suppose to be for scarves this year, but might become PJ bottoms! Thanks.

I think pants are more comfortable when the crotch seam is sewn that way.
