Brings back old memories. I used to live on a farm, we ended up raising 2 fawns. The mother had gotton caught in fencing and died. The female was as gentle as she could be. She followed us around like a pup. She would even come inside and spend the night on a large dog bed with NO accidents! When it was hunting season, I would paint her in cattle marker orange and we even had a flouresent orange collar on her. The farm was leased out for hunting, so all the guys knew her. Finally she was accepted back into the wild and the following year she brought her 2 babies back to show us. And YES we did get the collar off her, she had went missing for about 2 months. She finally came back and allowed me to take it off!

love your story.so many hunters here we do not try to tame them, just feed them.they know we won't hurt them.just hope they do not trust everyone.they are such wonderful animals

we used to have herds of deer living in our trees for the winter but the winters have been so bad lately that our deer are being thinned out. I took my pictures of the moose and twins to Staples last night and had some 8 x 10" prints made to hang on the walls. Now I have to dig out my frames. And yes I made the front page of our weekly newspaper with the pic of the moose close up. Will never see that again.
