I have a chance to buy a Singer 99 machine for $99.00 plus $50.00 for the case. Would you do it? I am in a quandree about this. I don't really want to spend that much money, but if you think it's a good deal, I might spring for it. What does everyone think? Thanks for your input. I value your opinions.

It seems to be a bit steep in price. Why does it cost $50 for the case? Just wondering. My 99k was $70 and included the bentwood case and had a some attachments and manual.

Thanks-I thought it strange that the case wasn't included. Guess she wanted to get more money that way. Do you like then machine?

I like mine, its a hand cranked model. I am teaching my granddaughter to sew with it. She likes being able to have complete control.

the 99 needs the case to sit in for sewing. so, the case is an
integral part of the machine. $50 for the whole thing is good.
they are easy to find. great stitching, but heavy machine.

That's what I thought too Smitty. The machine can't just sit on a table without a base.

Thank you for info. Glad I didn't jump for it. Asked her to include case for the price and she didn't answer me. Oh well, I'll just keep looking. I think some people are looking to get rich on these old machines. Had a lady from Craigs list send pic of treadle machine, really beat up and I had to ask to see more pic of just the machine, which she didn't but she wanted $350.00!!!! She better keep it if it's worth that much.
