My wife and I watch in amazement. Thinking how could they like this lifestyle...but they were brought up in it. Kody's father...Mary and Janelle's mothers...seems there was mention of the 3rd and 4th ones as well. The car was mentioned to be a good buy and a car needed..I've never heard of any mention of public assistance...if they have issues of jealously ..they chose the lifestyle so they should DEAL WITH IT. I don't agree with most of it but find it interesting that some do. All of them have issues ..not just the man. But, living in that environment who wouldnt. It's our countries freedoms that allow for this co-habitation and freedom of choices...If its found to be illegal in any way....the law will take care of it. I have been married to the same wonderful wife for almost 37 years..dont want to share with anyone else. They get paid a great deal of money to provide entertainment by being on the show...with that amount of money ...I could afford lots more fabric....to each their own..I honestly pray for the children

I have seen it. But I don't get it. I don't share well with others!!
One of the wives/girlfriends lost their job because of their way of life. Saw that on one of the commercials for it.

I really wish that there were producers/script writers (or whatever the proper term is) that would write some good shows and get rid of all these reality shows. For some reason they just annoy the heck out of me.

Seems like the channels can't find anything (shows) that aren't reality. I live my own reality every day. I don't wanna hear about their drama. When they are being paid to flash their nonsense out there for all to see. Then in the end like Jon and Kate plus 8. You watch it unravel. Getting old.

Also I so totally DISAGREE that the first wife should have been fired because of her lifestyle...there's a law suit there...but thats a freedom(lawsuit) we have. I'd love some good comedies but, nothing funny has been on tv for a long time...more time to quilt

I think that this kind of living should be kept in private.
If I was a guy, I would be ashamed to say that I had more than 1 wife. As far as I am concerned, he is cheating on his first wife. I'm in for seconds.

First husband was Mormon, all his family was.
1. Latter Day Saints (Mormon Church) outlawed polygamy, excommunicates them.

2. Mormon Church has own welfare system, funded by its members and encourages self-sufficiency, stable families, and community involvement.

I couldn't stand the church but you've got to give credit where it is due.

Does the 1st wife have health problems now?? I don't watch the show anymore, but the "teaser" on tv said she is in serious trouble.

From what I understand the lst wife was the one that thought Kody should go for the 4th wife. Then she got jealous when it came time for the wedding. Did they ever say what kind of job she had before she got fired? They call theirselves Fundamental Mormans not LDS.

Thanks, redmadder, for reminding everyone that these people do NOT belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). I am LDS, and I'm sorry that people unknowingly think this is what 14+ Million of our church members practice. We don't.
I've been thinking this week about our current television programing. They are ending some of the soaps that have been on for decades, and which used to seem a bit over the top. Now, the 'reality' shows are even more so! There are rumors here about filming a 'Vegas Housewives'. Some who want to be on the program include a couple who started a swingers club and live with their children and the husband's girlfriend, and a female impersonator who is in a gay 'marriage'. Guess I'm getting too old and outside the targeted audience!!!
Sorry for going on so long, thanks for letting me vent.
