sorry....that link doesn't seem to connect...it is the site of a bald eagle nest in Washington, D.C., this morning, mom was on the nest, dad sitting along side her (2 eggs) and the rest of the huge nest was filled with snow...it was just a lovely picture I wanted to share.....just peeked in again......it's snowing again! www.dceaglecam.org it is part of the American eagle foundation. The organization that has shown Challenger...the soaring eagle to many national sports events, etc. will bring a tear to your eye......

That's a great live cam of the eagle's nest. I've been watching a nest in Florida from the beginning of the eggs to hatch & fledge. One eagle hatched on 12/18 & the other hatched 12/20. One officially branched 2/20 and fledged 3/2. One bird had to be taken out of the nest because of a issue concerning it's foot but seems it will be just fine. Thanks for the site.

I was watching Romeo and Juliet and Peace and Hope. Hope fledging was so exciting! She/He put on quite the show!
I haven't watched it in some time.Is Hope still around the nest area? I read this morning that Peace will be put back near the nest area today.

We have an eagle cam here in Minnesota that I watch every day. Our 3 eaglets just hatched recently! It is so fun and informative to watch. Try www.dnr.state.mn.us. Hope I did that right!

Oh my gosh! I can't believe I've just been watching an eagle breathe thousands of miles away in Washington DC while I'm sitting in Durban, South Africa! How absolutely awesome is that! Beautiful! I hope it's going to be a successful hatching!

I watched last year the Red Tailed Hawks on a college campus, can't remember which one. It snowed on them too and I wrote to the people wondering if those poor little eggs would freeze. They reassured me that these were experienced parents and would be able to care for these young despite the snow. And they were right. All three chicks hatched and fledged.

I just loved it when the parent would come back with squirrel vitals and line the chicks up and feed them one by one. It was like she was telling them: Line up, put your wings back and get ready for squirrel dinner. In no time there was nothing left of that hapless squirrel, not even a bone.

I've sure got extra squirrels this year. No winter and 7 of them are raiding my bird feeders. A friend said to put a slinky on the feeder. I'll have to move the ones hanging from the trees, but I'm going to try it.

romeo & Juliet are at nefleaglecam.org and their two eaglets Hope - female, and Peace - male, have both fledged. Theirs is quite a story...this is what got me "hooked". Have been watching the family since before hatch......learned so much about our beautiful country's symbol

now Washington, D.C.- the president and First Lady- as they have been known are incubating two eggs.........

Saw the title to this post and had to look. In Arizona, Snowbirds take on a whole different meaning.
