"Dreamt" is the only English word that ends in the letters "mt".


I learned this one on Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader show the other day!! or is that learnt? hope not.

I am not sure why mandolin doesn't rhyme with it. I was told that by a PhD in a college English class and we were discussing the use of rhymes and rhythm in poetry and language in general.

Ha! Now I can tell my son that I really do know everything. I once told him that I hoped I lived long enough to be as smart as he thought he was. He's now 36 and is amazed at all the things he thought he knew, but didn't!
