    Sochi Quiltish Design

We watch a lot of the Olympics and I'm fascinated with the signature design used in many venues that looks like a diamond block quilt pattern. It's shades of blue in the figure skating rink, and reds and multicolors in the snowboarding area. My daughter had a friend from Russia visiting in November and they came to our house for Thanksgiving. The woman brought me two dish towels that are Sochi souvenirs, made in that pattern. I'd love to learn more about its origin. Must be some kind of folk pattern. Are there many quilters in Russia? Will have to look it up.

I think the snowboarding jackets are very sharp. Only saw them under their Sochi tops so it was nice to see the entire jacket.

Hey, Kathy, thank you so much for the link! I am delighted to see it all put together. I love the rainbow effect, and all the ways the designs are used.

Great idea! Can you make a pattern out of those dish cloth souvenirs? That will be great too. And we have to connect with our fellow quilters in Russia too.

Love the jackets - hope they will be available to the general public!
