I've seen these used at craft shows & thought about getting 1. Does anyone know if they work with a TracPhone or Kindle Fire? I was told you only "pay" when it is used.

I don't think PayPal Here will work with either of those. Here's a link to their FAQ page, where it lists the compatible devices (have to scroll down a bit). I didn't see either one listed. Edit: But I did notice that their list isn't complete. My Moto G phone isn't listed, but it works just fine with their app and card reader. Maybe contact PayPal support and ask? I've had good luck with them answering inquiries quickly.

I'm not familiar with Square's device requirements; sorry.

I just use PayPal, its been a great method for me for almost 15+ years without a hitch. To me they are tried & true and been around long enough I feel safe. So, haven't tried any ( Apps) I would really research policies and safety features and call / talk to a person before considering it. I want to know customer service is pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful and accessible. And they deal with problems right away.

I have used the square for years. I got tired of all the add-on fees that the credit card companies kept adding at my store so I got rid of all of it and got square. (I also purchased a tablet because it was easier to use than the phone.) Now, I don't have my store but I continue to use the square (on my phone) for various venues. They just sent me info about upgrading to the chip reader, but I am still looking into it. My understanding is that you will still be able to use the swipe cards for quite awhile.

Thanks for the tips. I'll check into this before the next craft show season.
