Default Surgery Recovery

Hi all...I have been away awhile recovering from knee replacement. I am now finally feeling like being on the PC, but still not up to sewing. So I will have to get my sewing fix through reading about your sewing adventures!

You will be feeling better soon and meanwhile, you can hang out at QB with us until you can sew again.

I had my knee replaced April 23rd, so know what you are about. I found that I could rest my leg on a foot stool and sew for a bit with the other foot. Lots of fun.

I had knee replacement done May 7, I was back in the sewing room in 3 weeks but very limited. I have just gotten back to quilting at the longarm. Still can't do a full day in the sewing room but it will get better. Doctor told me not to get impatient sometimes takes 6 months to get back to pre-op activities.

Thanks everyone....and thanks for the personal insights. I think that is one of my worries...how LONG will I need to baby this knee? Of course, I have to keep reminding myself that I have been babying this knee for years.....LOL!!!

It's been 7 years since my knee replacement - I still have to pay attention to where I walk - we live in the country and don't have sidewalks - lots of fields. At least I'm not in constant pain anymore.!

I'm looking at a knee replacement in the near future, would imagine I'll have to have it done before the first of the year. The cortisone shot is wearing off (lasted about 3 months) and I don't want to get to the point where my pain was as bad as it was before the shot...Doc said he'd give another shot but wouldn't last 1/2 as long, and won't give a third...interesting to hear everyone's journey with this!
