With the greatest respect, I'd like to give you a perspective from 'the other side' - Both my daughters have several tats, but they thought long and hard before getting each one. Each original work of art has a special meaning to these beautiful young women. They designed their own to celebrate special times or honoring special people in their lives. (I'm awed to be one of those people that my youngest has chosen to honor.) They are both well educated, working in their chosen fields and out on their own. Granted some young folks get inked without putting much thought behind it, but if you could see my girls, you might change your view just a little bit.

I agree. I would never tattoo a name on me unless it were one of my children. No matter what happens your child will always be your child.

I love my daughters tattoos, well all except the cover up she got over her first both were pretty badly done but she was 18 at the time. She just wanted to get one cause I did. lol
But her ones since then have been well thought out and they are beautiful. I wish I had more pictures to share but I changed computers and they are all on a disk somewhere. She has a daisy for me and a piston for her dad on her upper chest and above that she has a beautiful winged heart. It looks like jewelry. She has a submarine for her uncle and a picture of herself as an Atlanta Roller Girl. What can I say she loves herself. lol She also has the Pink Panther on her leg with all the characters around him in Polaroid time pictures. Very cool ! None are flash they have all been designed for her. Unlike mine which is flash. Oh she has the skeleton from Social Distortion's Album and Mommy's Little Monster written above it with her daughters name and birthday under it. On her leg is a pencil sketch from an e.e. cummings book. And there are more but I can't remember them right now.

Love the saying! I don't have any tattoos and I will use this saying now. So here is another saying that someone said. I'll give you a short version of the story... One of my pastors was giving a long sermon about the demon in our world and his influence of today's worldly things that distract our young people from godly ways. Well he got on the subject of tattoos and piercings and how our body is the temple of God and then my mouth dropped when he said " You know God gave us the essential holes needed for our body, do you want me to name them?" Some of us in the church shouted "No Thanks You!"

Well I only have 1 extra one! I only have my ears pierced one time!
