Default Things you wish you started to learn at an earlier age?

I am just fasinating by people who can knit well. I have tried and tried but something happens when yarn is placed in my hands ... and its not good! I know the learning curve for most hobbies is life long.... how I wish I had started to learn to knit at an early age.
What do you wish you had started on your learning path much sooner?

I wished I would have learned to knit and crochet when I was younger. Also I wished I had learned to ride a motorcycle, drive a vehicle with a manual transmission.

Quilting would be my #1 . Srarted when I was 48yo. Whish I had gone further in art school too.

I could live forever and always find something to learn and experience.

Never enough time.

Both things that I am currently addicted to. Wish I had learned to show dogs long before I turned 40 which is when I started. And quilting. I made my first couple of quilts at age 40 and restarted about 5 years ago.

ube quilting is so right - "I could live forever and always find something to learn and experience."

ps - I am way, way past 40 now.

Wish I would have started quilting sooner but did to learn to crochet and knit when younger lucky to have my DH's aunt live downstairs to teach me. I do prefer crochet but do knit. Down here in Fl. it's usually to hot for sweaters, etc. I do crochet afghans for deco's for my house and also for all my kids. I still have a daughter up N and I do make things for her. I've started gathering fabric and hope to be able to accomplish a lot after my foot surg heals. Sue

My mom took me to a German lady to learn to knit when I was about 9 or 10 I made an orange morhir sweater that I never wore cause it was itchy! I also learned to crochet before that I can do most crafts including tatting that I learned when I was in Home Ec class and got to go to an elderly lady's house so she could teach me. If it is out there I have to try to do it!!

I wish I would have learned to speak Italian. My grandparents (long deceased) spoke it and I know some words and phrases. I think it's really hard to learn another language as an adult.

Learned to speak Italian, play a piano, and started quilting before I was 49.
