I have been saving these containers to share with some friends who use them from anything from nails and screws holders, put coffee in from a larger can, hold quilting tall items (that's m e) etc.
Do you have a practical way to re-use these great containers - with lids even?

i save containers like that for mixing dyes...always in need of more containers when dyeing fabrics. :)
instead of spending any money- i (try) to use all recycled items for my dyeing and any other crafty project i'm working on

Stuff and cover the cap and make a pin cushion out of it. Glue a magnet on the bottom of it to pick up pins. Store spools of thread in cans with small string out so you don't have to open the lid to see the color.

Sewing notions
Pens, pencils
Tape measure
Extra 'dime store' eyeglasses in sewing basket
Twist ties for reuse in kitchen foil, wax paper, baggie drawer
Loose return address labels
Hot glue sticks
Stuff folded electrical cord to popcorn popper inside
Odds & ends in purse (nail clippers, lipstick, etc)
Loose tea, also tea in bags
Q-Tips in bathroom on counter
Bulk spices from health food store
Ask me sometime about clothespins - they have many, many uses in my home LOL
