Yesterday morning I got a call from a customer at home. It was early and I was racing to get ready for work. She sounded a bit distressed and I was concerned for her. Let along she had never called me before and it had been years snce I had seen her.

She had a request. Could I make a quilt block for her with some machine embroidery on it. Of course I can.

She brought the information in to me today at work. Now here is the good part and sad part.

Her son died this last year of a heart attack. He was an organ doner. From what she said several items were donated. He was from Navada and I guess they do a quilt in memory of the differant people who donate. Her family was contacted with the request of a block. Under the circumstances, she felt to overwhelmed to take on the task. Gosh after all these years, my name came to her as the one to make the block. (Do I feel honored or what? Frankly I felt blessed to participate.)

She also shared with me this: She leads the music at her church. She said she was leading the music and a man came walking up the isle. She said she came forward to see what he needed. She said his eyes were bandaged and he had a nurse with him. He told her he was there to say thank you. He said he had received her sons eyes, he said he had never had sight his whole life. He already could see light.

We both cryed. I love her for thinking of me and sharing with me. She said she never thought she would look into those eyes again. We cryed some more. You know what? We do amazing things for each other. Some times, one of our Heavenly Fathers greatest gifts is......each other.

Wow. What a blessing to meet one of the recipents that must've been. I'd feel honored if I were you, too. What a lovely task you have now.

With tears in my eyes, I say thank you for a beautiful story, especially today when we are reminded of man's inhumanity to man.
