Thank you so much for this. I buy Boxed Talipia and I'm going to the freezer to see where it comes from. We try to eat some kind of fish a few times a week. NOW?????
I've heard that "W" is going to start getting alot of their products from S. America. We can't win for losing. I try not to shop there too much.

i'm now wondering if maybe the canned fish is better because it's been processed? like canned salmon or something. tuna is supposed to be bad for you also. dh goes fishing, so we eat that, but only when it's not too cold.

Checked the Talapia and it is from China and processed in Fla.

I doubt that the processing would do anything to the chemicals...
Fish caught around certain big cities with sewage/chmicals dumped into the bays are chock full of all kinds of nasty chemicals. Outside San Francisco fish have been caught with all kinds of nasty tumors and deformities...the pictures were awful that I seen, I did not even recogonize the fish, even after being told what breed they were. I would think it would be worse in some of the other countries where this kind of dumping is even worse.

I think I will pay more for my fish and seafood and KNOW where they are coming from

the tuna thing - they say that tuna carries too much mercury. children and child-beearing-age women should severely curtail their intake and averyone else shouldn.t eat too much, either. you can probably google the recommended amounts.

on the canned salmon, a lot of the cans say alaskan caught, so i feel okay about that and wild caught alaskan. what else can i not eat? sardines, anchovies, herring bits in jars, etc. ?

the fish from the great lakes? how safe are they?
