Just wondering if anyone has a favorite travel site for booking flights, hotels, etc. We're doing a little travel over the holidays and I've booked a house at our destination, but looking for a hotel on the way. I've been searching on travelocity and expedia. On travelocity, for instance, they have a "top secret hotel" option. Rates are great, ratings supposedly good... but is it as good as it seems? If anyone has used this, would love to hear about it. Thanks!

I research thru Travelocity and Expedia, but often book directly with the airline or hotel. Prices are usually the same and I avoid paying the fee. If you are going to a major city, ValueTrips is great for hotel deals. If you aren't picky about where you stay, you can do well thru Priceline. Last time I checked into a hotel I booked that way, I paid about $60/nite. The going rate the day I checked in was over $250!
