*giggle* Amazing how we seem to curse like sailors......LOL when we get frustrated.

Impressive that you would even undertake such a project. You did it beautifully!

A tree stand is a small house/shack/shelter/platform which hunters put as high as he/she can in the tree to use for protection from the elements while they wait for the 16 point buck to come sauntering by. What a trophy that one would be in the game room.

The 16 point buck gave me a chuckle, seems the next mile over hunters are waiting for that same one. The buck would have a long ways to travel to get here in the 'Thumb'. AND the buck has got to stop within range for a solid shoot.
I had sewn unusual things for my hunter/truck son, before he passed in 2001.

So funny... I opened this post to see your "tree stand", thinking it was a Christmas tree stand, the thing we screw our trees into and then fill up with water!

Tartan a tree stand is for hunters to perch in disguise in a tree. Some are like small tree houses, some like ledges. my son is a hunter and fisherman.

I was unable to edit or delete my post. Only then did I see the other definitions of the "tree stand". Yes my son keeps waiting for that large buck to no avail. He still gets some decent venison for his freezer through out the year though.
