Default Trip To Savannah

Hi everyone,

In June we're going to head out to Savannah for a couple of weeks and I was wondering if anyone can offer any suggestions for quilting stores or fabric stores (first on my priority of course) and any other shopping areas. Of course DH wants to know where to eat out and where to golf (see he's got his priorities lol)

Any suggestions will be appreciated - I believe we are driving through Richmond, VA as well

I love Civil War stuff so thats on my need to do list as well - this is starting to get to be a long list LOL

Thanks for any suggestions!
Sheila

We visited there a few years ago. It's a lovely city. I can't help you with any fabric stores but be sure to check out the shops on the river walk. There are a lot of restaurants, ice cream, and candy stores along there as well.

If you're into the Civil War, go to Fort Pulaski. It's very cool! Tybee Island has a great beach and some good seafood restaurants. And for a fun evening, you might want to go to a Savannah Sand Gnats minor league baseball game.

Have fun!

Sandygirl there are a couple of places 1) Savannah Sewing Center (Colonial Quilts), there is also a JoAnn's and Hancock fabrics there as well. Depending on if your driving and from where Jinny Beyer's studio is beautiful and lots of lovely fabrics they are in Great West Falls, Virginia. Colonial Quilts just FYI they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. I hope its cooler for you when you go it didn't come down below 100 while we were there and humidity was about 115 too hot to do a lot.
