We have signed up to go on a cruise to Alaska and I was wondering what kind of clothes I should pack. We are leaving on Sept. 1st and getting back to SF on the 11th.

I don't know what to pack, but leave a spot in your suitcase so I can go too!
I'm sure you'll have a great time!
Alaska is one place I really want to go.

Wow, what fun. I wouldn't know what to pack. Amma is right, ask your travel agent.

I would go for layers! And sweathers, and jackets, if our weather in St. Louis is any indication of fluctuations! Really, ask the booking agent!

layers, including fleece. Rain jacket. Warm jacket. Hat, gloves, warm socks. If you are cruising up the inside passage, you are going to run into some cold, damp weather. If you are going to be looking at glaciers, you will be getting the cold air off them, and it's brisk! If you will be going into the interior, the days may be warm (or not), but the nights will be chilly.

Have a great time!

OK, I'm jealous! We took the Alaskan cruise last year at this time of year and we loved it. Take a heavy coat and good walking shoes.

What to take to wear: You'll probably see some rain. Take rain gear or you can go to the local $ store and buy two rain ponchos in a package that are small and light weight...you will look like a giant loaf of bread but you won't be alone, there were lots of $ store ponchos on our cruise.

Enjoy your trip. We had such a wonderful time.
