Default update on new pc

Well, I got my new laptop today. Unfortunately is has windows 8 on it but I think I will be ok. I seem to be catching on ok so far, and got my antivirus downloaded and my email set up. Now I have to transfer my info onto this pc. I wanted to thank EVERYONE who gave me their thoughts (and warnings) about windows 8.

So glad things seem to be working well for you! Hope they continue to do so.

Well, I just got back from office depot. I had them transfer my info from my external HD onto this new pc. They also set it up like windows 7 for me so it's familiar and easier for me to use. So far, so good! Hey at least I'm not frustrated like I was when switching from XP to vista!!

Do they charge a lot for this service?

I paid nothing. Don't know if it was because I purchased my pc there or not? They are real good about helping me with my other pc with no charge tho.

Just an FYI I transferred all of my "stuff" from my old lap top ( XP) to my new one I used software called PC mover , inexpensive in comparison to what I would have been charged to have someone else "move" all of the "stuff".

I know I just got a new laptop and I hate windows 8, so difficult to navigate compared to 7 and difficult to find things I need. I need one of those dummy manuals
