I started volunteering for Parents Anonymous back in the 80's. I enjoyed it so much that I became obsessed with volunteering. I started volunteering for the rape crisis center, The Compassionate Friends, a battered women's shelter, and my kids' school. Then I got the bright idea to further my education so that I could get paid for doing the same work. Got a master's degree in social work. Sadly, it wasn't nearly as much fun when I started collecting a paycheck. My co-workers drove me crazy and eventually, right out of the field. Now I quilt.
