DH just got home and he's done with harvest. Finished! Earlier than most years and with much less drama (backstory-his dad usually does a lot of the work-not dh's choice-and this year he quit helping after the first week or so). I am so happy!!

Gale, I had to laugh at your comment. My brother farms our family farm and he 'kicked' our dad out of the combine one afternoon after my dad had ridden a couple rounds with him. My dad had commented to my brother that he "would probably TURN the farming operation over to him in about 5 years." My dad is 82 and my brother is 50 and has been handling everything for about 15 years now. LOL

Wish we could send some rain over to you in West Aust, I know my sister in Morangup (Gidgegannup) is also complaining of no rain this year. Dry as.
Congrats to the early harvest, does that mean rest and relaxation time now, or is there furthur work to do???

There's chiseling to be done but that isn't like harvest where you have to hurry. He can come home for lunch, be home at a decent hour, etc and won't be nearly as tired at night.
thanks everyone. earthwalker-I hope things improve there. We had a very bad year last year so I know that it's so hard.
