My daughter gave birth on Friday, to a gorgeous baby boy. She had a dreadful time of it and it ended in a Caesarian, so we're glad it's over and they are both doing well. His name is Gavin, he weighed 9'10", 22" long and is sooo good. For all of you out there who think over 30 is too old to be having a baby, my DD is 46 going on 47. No invitro or whatever, just let nature take its course. DD & hubby are ecstatic! So am I!!

That's one big boy! Congratulations! I was 45 when my one and only was born. What a joyous time they're in for. I was following dd down the sidewalk one day when a neighbor asked how I liked motherhood. "Love it!" I answered, "The only problem is that she can toddle faster than I can waddle."

Congrats!!! And thanks for sharing. I'll be 40 this year and am trying to come to grips with the no baby thing. But both your stories make me feel hopeful for at least a few more years *crossesfingers*
