Default Wedding Cake

On Tuesday 6th June, my lovely nephew married his sweetheart. When they announced their engagement they asked me to make the cake.

I am always making cakes and have done a few lovely ones, but I have never made one that was so important.... I mean, if you mess up a birthday cake you can always nip to the shops an buy another one... but a wedding cake. But I had to agree.......he is the only son of my wonderful older brother who died 6 years ago at the very young age of 43..... we were very close and I miss him so much so to be involved in the wedding of his only son was was a must for me.... but I was so worried.

Anyway, the wedding has been and gone and they both said that they loved the cake..... one layer Vanilla, one Lemon and one Chocolate! So I thought I would show it to my friends on the board!

I hope you will see the love that went into it!

Hugs

Caroline

Caroline, it is soooooo very beautiful. Yes, I can see the love. What a blessing you must be to your nephew and his new bride. Wow!

Aren't fresh flowers on a cake the greatest? How did you do the middle layer? It looks woven. Gorgeous!!

That is a beautiful cake! You did a wonderful job. I'm sure your nephew and his bride felt very loved.

On a side note - I'm glad to know my DH and I are not the only ones who wanted a multi-flavored cake! We did chocolate, lemon, and raspberry.
