Well apparently the frog was not the only one for me to save. (see topic here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-146242-1.htm )
Yesterday while driving home from my parents house there was a dog in the middle of the road. I stopped my truck and while all the other cars honked their horns at him I followed him in to the little league field he decided to trot in to. He stopped a ways in and started drinking from the huge puddles made by the rain. I pulled the truck across so I could hopefully keep him in the area and he would not go back out in the road. I got out of the truck and convinced him to come see me. He loved the peanut butter crackers I had on hand and he was sweet as could be (an older boxer, well taken care of). I tried to call my hubby so see if he could bring me one of our leashes so we could at least take him to our house until we could locate his owner (no collar or tags) or get him to the local vet. Hubby was not home. I stuck with him and he would come as far as the open door but not up in the truck (and I knew better than to try and pick him up!) Anyway after about 40 minutes of keeping him there and calm, his owner showed up and took him home.
I am so happy he did not get hit and I would like to think I helped make his life a little easier while waiting for his mom to come get him.
Hugs
April

Ty April! If my baby got lost I hope someone like would find her! She would be lonely and scared as unsure the boxer was. Glad his parents showed up! :)

Thanks, April! You telling us about your generous action may spur a lot more of us to not just drive on by!
