My sister and brother-in-law just went out for my sisters birthday dinner and a movie, and I'm babysitting. I have no idea what to do with her.

Her bedtime is usually at 8:30, but I have to pick them up at the theater and drive them to the restaurant at 9, and I have to pick my mom up at work at 10. Not only will I have her now, I also have to have her stay awake way past bedtime.

The only think I can think of is letting her watch tv. Right now she is playing quietly in her room.

My kids liked to do make believe, tea parties, play with dolls or stuffed animals. Anything interactive and silly goes overwell.

Get out some of your fabric. If she knows or is learning her colors you can have her point to the colors and tell you what they are. Or if any of your fabric has animals on it do the same thing in naming the animals.

Also read to her, even if you have to find a children's story book on line if you don't have one.

Play peek a boo. Play with her toys with her.

If she is up past her bed time she may just fall asleep in the car. If not, she may be cranky. Have her favorite blankee or toy at hand.
Sing to her.

Hold her and cuddle with her and cherish the time together!

Have fun. And drive carefully.

wait until she's 22yrs old, before you baby sit again. Then you can take her out and you'll both have fun.

Put her in her jammies before you take off. Give her a bath. Most all kids that age love baths. If she fall's asleep in the car you can just carry her in and put straight to bed. As someone above said "don't forget the blankie"

I have one of them myself. :)

Put her in her jammies before you go out. Be sure to bring along her favorite toy and blankie.

Sing, dance around, head shoulders knees and toes works well.

If your little one is anything like mine, keep her away from the fabric or else you'll be spending a ton of time ironing and refolding.

And just as an FYI - if they're quiet.. watch out. Let them be loud. :D
