Ok, so we are going to be taking our daughter to Philly, PA on Saturday for her to return to continue her post grad work in New Zealand. So, we decided to stop in Lancaster on our way home and maybe meet a board member on Monday in Lancaster. But, we probably won't get to Lancaster in time to shop on Saturday and I am sure there aren't any LQS's in that area open on Sunday, so what is there to do in Lancaster beside the fabric stores and the outlets? I will do quilt related shop[ing til I drop on Monday, but don't want to be sitting in a hotel room twiddling my thumbs all day Sunday. Thanks for any suggestions.

The company my DH works for has its corporate headquarters in Lancaster...and I am lucky enough to get to travel with him!
We usually stay at least a week, so we both get cabin fever from those hotel rooms! We like to walk around in Park City Center Mall, and they also have a Jo-Ann fabrics (near the mall) that is open on Sunday. We also just drive around and look at the scenery, it's beautiful country! Are you going to hit The Old Country Store on Monday? I love that place!!!

I am north of Philadelphia (near Newtown, PA). One of the best & largest quilt shops is between me & Lancaster. It is open on Sunday. I have not been there for a while & I think they have changed owners, but here is their website. http://www.countryquiltworks.net/

Sorry, I just discovered Country Quiltworks has downsized & is no longer the hugh place I remembered. So sad! I used to go there & spend hours as they had so much to look at.

Read this link for explanation. I have not been to the new location. http://www.countryquiltworks.net/about.html

This was my next favorite shop. It looks like they got a bit bigger than the original store I was familiar with. When my sister got me into quilting back in 1996, I use to go to all the sales at the quilt shops & ship fabric to Pittsburgh, PA for her. Sew Smart always had a large section of "sale" fabrics - expecially when the new fabric lines came out.

Looks like this shop is open on Sunday as well. Located on main street of Doylestown, PA, there are places to eat as well.

Just to warn you, a lot of the shops in Paradise and nearby towns are closed on Monday too, since they are open on Saturday. My DIL & I have been disappointed a couple times to find this out.
