I ask this because in my family My Mom can make clothing, My Sister can knit and I quilt. My oldest DS does artistic drawings and my DD could too if she would work at it. My DH could have been a musician but gave it up when the kids came along, he can also can draw and paint art. We are still waiting to see what talent little man will have other than destroying the livingroom. LOL!!

So what talents are in your family? I would like to hear about them.

I play the fiddle and piano. I enjoy doing anything crafty (painting, cross-stitch, crochet, =of course= quilting.) My DH is a blacksmith and makes beautiful custom knives and iron work (hammered on an anvil). My DS writes poetry and is a talented graphic artist. My DD bakes/creates cakes for all occassions. My Dad plays the guitar. Two of my brothers play guitar, mandolin, banjo and fiddle. One of my sisters plays the mandolin and piano. We all sing (gospel). My paternal grandfather was a fiddler who played at many barn dances. He also made baskets and walked 10 miles <covered from head to toe in baskets> to sell them in "town". I have truly been blessed. Thanks for asking.

I play the radio! And I'm a fabulous grandmother - at least I think I am since the grandkids keep coming back to visit and are in no hurry to leave.

My Mom was good at anything she put her mind to. She re-did the bathroom - tiling and all, built benches, quilted, made clothing, crocheted, knitted. The words "I can't" were not in her vocabulary.

My Dad was mathematically gifted (at least from my point of view), loved electronics, fixed cars...

My DH is a jack of all trades. Loves old radios and 45 record players (remember them?), collects them and fixes them up. He wrote a collectors book on 45 record players, too. And he makes me laugh!

My youngest daughter is into writing, but hasn't published anything yet (except on the internet). She was an elite level soccer player (not olympics, but close), and has a memory that you wouldn't believe.

My older daughter is into photography and scrap booking. She spends tons of time on it. She is a 'foodie' and loves to cook. She and I are polar opposites when it comes to cooking...

My son is a sweet, but gruff nurse. He seems to have a way with the folks in the nursing home. I think it's because his voice is just naturally loud, so the hard of hearing patients can hear him!

My grandkids have a talent for making me laugh. Sometimes I think that is the most important talent of all!

An aunt and my grandmother sewed clothes (they've passed away), my mom still sews & knits (and taught my sisters and I to knit & sew).
My parents like in Alaska, my mom made us all down coats & snowpants, and she knit tons of mittens and sweaters.
One sister plays the organ in her church, another sister plays the harp and piano, I used to play the flute. My brother is an excellent carpenter, he also does etched and frosted glass. My parents used to reupholster furniture (as a hobby). My aunt embroidered and crocheted too.
My late grandfather did leaded stain glass after he retired.
My Dad and all four of "us kids" learned to fly airplanes. My dad repairs trucks, all sizes, just because he wants to.
Thanks for making me think about what we all do.

My Mom plays both the piano and organ. I play the piano.
We also sing. Music has been a big part of my life, especially growing up. I sang my first solo at age 4 in church. Hubby is also a jack of all trades. My son pretty much is as well. DD is an excellent cook, and photographer.
She is much more artistic than I am. I gave up crocheting because of the arthritus in my hands.

My mother can do wonders with a sewing machine and is particularly good at making clothes. She also did most of the stuff in the house herself over the years, from making curtains to installing additional power points and carpentry. The latter were more from necessity than particular wish on her part- Dad couldn't change a light bulb, much less anything more complex! I was very pleasantly surpprised when I got married to discover that DIY did not have to feature in my role profile unless I wanted it to- MY DH is very handy around the house.

My mother and siblings are all good at drawing. My sister and brother are wonderful with making small "fiddly" things- machines or jewerly or other things as circumstances require.

None of us are musical, sadly, although I love to sing.

Well, my sister and I both play piano.
I took band 8 years and played all the reed instruments, mainly clarinet and oboe. Loved it.
I sew, crochet, cross stitch, quilt, knit, paint, and whatever else I put my mind too. ANd therefore so do all the women in my family. WE all learned together. I make dolls too. Lots of talented ladies on here.
I am learning Stain glass next month at the Artisan Mall. SHould be fun. Plan to do quilting ones. We'll see how that goes.
