Went to my Mom's after work to do our weekly (for the moment) fabric listing and have supper. Right in the middle of everything it came a MIGHTY storm. Wind, sheeting rain, hail, branches hitting the house. When we tried to go home, there was a large tree down on one end of the road and trees and power lines both down on the other end. So, back to Mom's for a long while. At her house, there were several large branches down, and a portion of the chinaberry tree broken off. Finally, quite late, we got a call letting us know that the tree had been cleared where we could get home. Branches all over the yard, tree down behind the house; total mess. Hubby will be having fun cleaning up the yard after work tomorrow. The good news is that no branches fell on the sewing cottage!

We finally got a good rain tonight. I live in central Virginia and we were getting desperate for rain.

Oh dear - just saw this & realized this is probably why you haven't responded to my PM about a fabric in your sale. I am glad everyone is ok & the sewing cottage survived the storm & fallen trees.

Squishy red clay!

When is the July/Aug drought going to get here? We BADLY need to pressure wash the deck and walks. they are positively green!

Glad you are oaky. Dry, dry, dry in our part of Texas. Not wishing any bad luck on others but we could use a small tropical storm off the coast that pushed some mositure up to North Texas.

I agree, but not until I have a new roof. Then it can rain all it wants. :)
