I have too much to do already and have decided that I just HAVE to crochet a baby hat on top of it all. I just can't find a knitted pattern I like as much, though I CAN knit. Do I crochet? No. Did that stop me from buying a pattern? No.

Yikes!!

Lol. BTW--this is how I became a knitter and a quilter.

There are many excellent how-to videos on crocheting on YouTube. I know because I did the same thing you did just last year. I just had to have an afghan I saw but didn't know how to crochet.

Just remember – they are not hobbies; you are developing a robust post-apocalyptic skill set... :P

LOL, that cracked me up!

I had grand visions of knocking out 3 kids quilts (as well as 2 for charity), a pair of knit mittens or gloves for 7 kids & a wall quilt for my BF...well, now I've added 5 kids book bags and my knitting has gone from 2 pair almost done to the rest will be crocheted because I found an almost finished scarf and whipped up another. Crochet is so much faster than knitting (though I'm not much of a crocheter & only do 2 stitches). I keep adding to my list but I'm also modifying some of the most time-sucking items. I have an extra week past Christmas but I don't want to depend on that.

Ha!! That's right!

I definitely will be on youtube tonight as soon as I receive my pattern.

Amy, I keep telling myself that I've heard crochet is so much faster. I'm hoping I really "take to it" and that it's true for me!
