Does anyone else find the new ads for Nutrisystem really offensive? Marie Osmond is talking to this Robin woman who has the gall to say "If you're over 50 and overweight, there's just no hope." What in blazes does the company think they are gaining with a statement like that? Have they lost their corporate mind? Makes me want to sic the AARP on them!!

not nice, and not real. Sounds like scare tactics. Yes it is harder, but that is just stupid.

Shes just playing a character...

But I'm sure that ad agency could have used better words though...even for scare tactics

Some people do feel that way, that's how Nutrisystem sucks them in. I'd be interested to see where Robin is a year from now.

I'm on Weight Watchers and loving it and actually losing weight. Slow but steady.

Haven't seen that commercial but it sounds a bit weird from your description!!
You know, it's a fact that if you eat healthy food and less of all foods and exercise more you will lose weight!!! :D it's not rocket science!!
I really have no use for diets of any kind!!

I see those commercials and think "what a bunch of cr*p". If you will look closely, on every one of them, in tiny tiny wording somewhere on the screen, it will say "results not typical". That's even on the ones who say they lost 20 pounds! If their program/product is so great, why is a weight loss of 20 pounds not typical?!? It's just another way to make money off the American public by preying on their feelings of guilt at being overweight.

I'm with you on this, the scare tactic brings in folks who are fearful and willingly spend their $. Less calories, and healthy exercise is much better and makes more sense.
I hate that they try to prey on folks who are feeling bad in the first place.

What she is saying is that "she thought" when you turned 50 and were overweight, there was just no hope. I heard it the way you did the first time too.

America's weight problem is out of hand, but I don't think that these diet companies are the answer. Eating less and moving more is the best way.
