I got so much good advice on here about mattresses, would like to ask about bed pillows.
I've bought ones that looked/felt great & were pancakes in no time. Also had a couple that were solid as rocks & leave a crick in my neck.
Do you have a fav brand/store for buying pillows? A neighbor said she hasn't bought any in 20 yrs!!!! Guess I'm just not good at picking pillows. :(

I've had a feather pillow that is an embarrassment to my hubby...it actually spits feathers now. It's not like I couldn't make a case for it and sew it inside (gosh what a novel idea :)) but I did that before and it did change the way the pillow "felt" inside the case.

So I bucked up and bought a new "fluffy" pillow...OMG...I thought I was sleeping on a 2' high block of fluff...that wouldn't flatten for anything. After a couple hours of fighting that rascal I tossed it on the floor and got my "normal" pillow back.

DH tried the "new" pillow too thinking it looked comfy...it also got the toss again, lol. Funny thing is ... it didn't look that fluffy in the store.

Good luck. Me and my feather pillow will have to be together until all the feathers are gone it seems.

I like the down pillows from Ikea. I like a thin pillow so I made 2 out of mine. My DH likes a thicker pillow but still would rather have down.

I am a picky pillow person... I have neck and back issues.
I have shopped everywhere for pillows.. allways go back to JCPenney or Macy's....... I'm one of those dumb looking ppl that puts my head ON the pillow in the store( thru the plastic)
BTW.... for all the cast offs....I save the plastics and I give them as gifts to my kids and parents ( ANYTHING is better than the pillows they normally have... they use them til they die!) Between DH and I we have 7 kids... I outfitted all the kids and my parents in pillows one year, during the pillow search!

I have a feather pillow that I got from mom... it is a bit ' stale" smelling... any ideas on how to freshen it up? The fabric looks ok, but outdated..... but I dont want to make a new case for all those feathers.....it is currently residing on my back deck in the SUNSHINE...... one can hope.

For sure.....I know just what you mean  When we go to visit DD & family in Fl, my pillows go too!Think they use wally world stuff till it shreds :-D

Sun will prob help the stale smell....especially hot sun. Can it be washed? I like to wash pillows on a very hot, sunny day & dry them on the porch.Have you tried Free Breeze?

I like the ones from JCPenney that have a gusset around the edge. They don't seem to flatten out as quickly.

There is just nothing like sleeping on a great pillow. I truley believe in spending $$ to get a great pillow. I like Macy's for Down pillows. Do not confuse feather with down.... HUGE difference.

My problem is... what is a comfortable pillow? I have used throw pillows, thick, thin, hard and soft pillows.I have used feather, down and that stuff that bounces back. Bouncing back doesn't help if it doesn't support your neck!!! When you find one ,et me know what it is.
