About 5 weeks ago our kitty took off and have been worried about him since....figured he is living the life with another family. Then 2 weeks ago we noticed all the woodchucks have left the area and now three days have passed since we saw any of our squirrels. What is going on???? Outside of the deer showing up (and a lot less of them) we have no animals anymore around around place...we live in the country.
And then, when we got home today we saw an eagle flying over our place, just coasting around above the trees. OH, Oh,
I bet that is why!!! All the animals are hiding.....or are dead. Hope my kitty is okay!!!!

I hope so, too! :( I would say poor kitty, but if he is the one driving out the wildlife he's probably having a pretty good time. LOL

Be on the look out for coyotes too. I live in a populated area on the west coast of florida and they have been sighted even in neighborhoods.

The other night, when I had the screen door closed and the main door open, I heard three coyotes howling about ten feet from our front door. It scared me right out of my seat!!! Do coyotes eat squirrels and woodchucks?

Coyotes eat anything they can catch or find dead, they're not the pickiest of beasts.

I was thinking coyotes, also. They can be nasty, and in groups, even worse.

Coyotes will eat anything small and slow enough to catch. I suspect I lost my kitty to a coyote.

Either that, or you might have a sicko in your midst... :(

As close as we are to Houston, we've had coyote sitings near our golf course this spring.

Yes, coyotes are the most likely culprits. As we encroach on their space and take away their habitats, they have no choice but to occasionally go after our small pets to survive. Eagles will take a small cat or a squirrel, but it's unlikely they would go after something as large as a woodchuck, especially if they're disappearing in large numbers.

I lost a cat to a coyote a few years ago and it was awful. I'm sorry your kitty is missing and I do hope that he is all right and will show up at your back door again soon.
