I can't figure out how to get two white marks off of my wood dining table. I used mayonaise, baking soda, toothpaste and rubbing on the spot with a soft cloth but nothing has helped. I called two furniture stores including the one I bought it from last year and they didn't know. :-( The internet gave me no help either. Has anyone fixed this kind of problem?

Have you tried a Mr. Clean magic eraser? They get off a lot of stuff that nothing else will.

What cause the marks?? Is it from scooting something with a white bottom across it? Or is it from sitting something hot on it??

Have you tried Old English oil for it? They have light and dark oils.
And I remember Grandma using a walnut piece to rub over a scratch on the old wood kitchen table. Probably wouldn't work unless the finish has been removed.

if the spots were caused by hot dishes or water , you may not be able to get it off without completely refinishing the table/section, and that's a pain.

Cigarette ashes , rub with a damp soft cloth. This did work for me, took the white off, but you do lose a little of the final finish( still looked better than the white ring). I've also poured vegetable oil over a mark and just let it sit for awhile. Do you get the idea people around here aren't too careful?LOL And sometimes it just has to dry out.
