I have a Nook - I made that choice because I knew I could download books from the library, and I couldn't do that on a Kindle. I haven't bought a book yet, and I really don't plan to - there are too many to read that are free!

About the library and Kindle - I spoke with the librarian at the Columbus Public Library and she said they are working with whoever it is and they will be available for library download sometime this year.
I believe this is true for other libraries as well. It's been posted here on another thread.

I wanted a Nook but found a "Pandigital" at Kohl's on sale and I love it. I get the internet, dl music, everything a Nook will do.
Did you know there are several sites where you can dl free books? Just google "free books for ereaders" and you should be referred to several sites. They also send me updates on new books they have. If its free, take advantage of it!

I have a Nook...just a b&w one...and I LOVE it! I love being able to travel without the need to bring several books along and it is nice not to have to take up bookcase space with novels. The only drawback...it is way too easy to buy books!!! Yikes, I have overspent since Xmas!

I use my Windows smart phone that way I don't have an extra gadget to carry around (& probably lose!) & it fits in my pocket--I don't carry a purse. I prefer the Barnes & Noble software & purchasing system over the Kindle/Amazon version and I have other readers for other types of books. If it's an e-book--I can read it with something loaded on my phone.
I agree about the prices being way too high on the best seller type e-books and many of the not quite best sellers. I don't understand the need to charge so much for something you can't even donate when you're finished with it. I refuse to pay more than $5 per e-book.
