Little town south of me has a yearly "wiener dog" races, sponsored by the Lion's Club. It's so much fun to see all those dachshunds running. They had 23 races of 7 or 8 dogs each. They also have vendors set up selling all kinds of stuff. Stopped at one and this guy had some wiener dogs where the middle of the dog was yo-yos. The head and tail were brown fabric, stuffed. My friend said "Barbar, you can make those". I picked one up to look at it, (not intending that I'd ever make one, but I was just interested in how it was made.) The guy said to me "I know what you're doing - you're not going to steal my idea". I was stunned. I looked at him at said, I was just looking at it. "You want to steal my idea", he says again. My friend asked him how he planned on selling them if he wouldn't let anyone pick them up. He didn't say anything. I put it down and we all walked away. I know people steal ideas all the time, but he drove away possible customers with his attitude.

People are funny. There are those that know everyone is out to get them. So sad. I hope you enjoyed the day:) Sounds like fun.

You can order patterns, maybe not quite the same as his though.

My weiner dog was the best. It's almost 2 yrs since he's been gone and I still miss him. Those races must be fun to watch. Hope that snob didn't mar your day!

I had a weiner dog in the 70's. She was such a great little dog. Still miss her.

I got DGD a wiener dog for her birthday last year. What a sweetie. A sweet and gentle dog. I'm hooked. I can't believe that vendor. Not a nice person at all.

WOW, if you really wanted to 'steal' his idea, you would of just purchased it so you can study it up close and take it apart if need be. What a grumpy guy! Hopefully his attitude did not ruin the rest of your day!

Well, that sounds like it was kind of rude of him! I would have asked him where HE got the idea...I am guessing he did not make them himself and, since you can google and come up with variations of this, I am guess that it was not an original pattern of his.
